Which component do I connect my laptop to a printer in a different room?
I can not use a print server Konica Minolta, it does not support them. I used three different print servers, all incompatible. I connect two wireless laptops while device that connects to the printer (which uses a USB cable). I must be able to print from both computers to the same printer.
You have to look outside the printer connection to a device that allows the printer shared by multiple computers. can dedicate a computer (Perhaps an old PC as a P2 with 64meg ram) and install the printer on the PC and printer sharing. Ohh and need to run Windows 98 and later. The problem is that your PC will always be on the printer to accept print requests. Unless the printer has a Ethernet port (you need a hub or router to connect to), then almost stuck with option 1. Good luck Cheers
