How to fix a UV filter for my Canon EOS 450D DSLR?

I just bought a digital SLR camera Canon EOS 450D. They gave me a free UV filter. But I'm not sure how to fix my goal. Can someone tell me how or give me website where are the instructions. Do I touch my lens or something so I can connect the UV filter. Pls help .. Thank you ..

The filter simply adjust the screw on the front of the lens. The needles monitor and counter clockwise to remove.
