Cover Canon

I bought a Tiffen UV lens cover for my Canon XTi, is it used?

I think it costs about $ 15 and is a filter UV can leave all the time, which supposedly protects the lens and reduces UV rays. I do not know how necessary it is because they have a lid of the lens when not in use for the camera and I am very careful. Since I bought it might as well use it, but do not want this to affect the quality of my photos. Is it worth using or should I just pull the Lens naked and be careful? I asked this question before and got mixed reactions. Tiffen is one who is supposed to sound, but it was only $ 15 if you do not know what kind of quality it is.

Well, think of the UV filter that cheap insurance. If an accident occurs and you scratch the lens, the repair will cost 5-10x UV filter. HTH
