How can I display on the LCD of a digital SLR Canon EOS Rebel Xsi what I'm recording in automatic mode?

Shows battery life and standard of remaining shots, but I'm looking through the viewfinder to see what I shoot. In the instruction manual shows me that can see the subject on the LCD screen I do not know how.

It is called "Live View" and is a tip. Any serious photographer, and not just a "click" shooter, always use the viewfinder – is the most accurate because it is exactly what the camera will see.
