I say hype sells. This is why manufacturers pay so much for advertising and promotion. Too many people fall into the hype without making search of their own. Having a famous name printed on the camera body or lens is not a guarantee in itself. Many brands cameras are excellent cameras and some cameras that have failed white. Currently I have Film Pentax, Minolta digital intermediate and a point n shoot Kodak.
