Take a photo of a water drop with the Nikon D40?

I have a Nikon D40 with lens, flash or any other remote, in addition to the camera, I have a tripod though. How can you take pictures with a Nikon D40 and kit lens [18-55mm]

Make a paper (Yes, paper) cone with a tiny hole in the end. Fill with liquid and hanging, dripping into a bowl filled with liquid. Set your D40 on a tripod and shoot in continuous gap. pop-up flash is better than nothing. I have not done that in a while though.
