Why should I buy the Canon 40D on the Canon Rebel XSI? It seems that XSI has more megapixels.

More megapixels can mean more noise. With the deals today megapixels are no longer a concern. Everything exceeds 6 is fine. The 40D is a more professional agency that the rebels, but the XSi is a somewhat newer technology. If it is a choice between two, choose the Fans prosumer 40D XSi.
