Which SLR camera is considered a professional?

Recently, I read some comments from people on some devices, saying: Canon Rebel XT which is good for fans who just started in photography, the same thing with the Rebel XTi and a little more and it made me think. What exactly is a professional SLR camera, then? because I thought the XT and XTI considered one or just ignorance these people. This is not true.

The XT and XTi are not professional cameras. They are all entry-level digital SLR range. Other examples are the Canon EOS 1D Mark III, Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III, Nikon D1X D2X, D1, D1X, D2Xs, Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II, the list is long. All these cameras are thousands and thousands of dollars, some of them around eight. They are not cheap. There many differences between the D3 and D40 entry-level. The XT and XTi are not professional cameras. professional cameras often have sensors FF, higher resolution and a vertical shutter release but it was built only a few differences.
