I have a 177D Tamron Minolta SLR and DSLR intend to buy Sony A100 is a good goal or buy equipment?
I'm considering buying a Sony Alpha A100 DSLR, my Tamron Minolta SLR 177D set the Sony DSLR A100, if so, is a good objective or simply buy the kit?
The Sony A100 has a focal length multiplier of 1.5, so your Tamron 28-80mm zoom would be in effect 42 120 mm. Therefore, probably not as big as a standard zoom, and if the match electronics. Not sure if the old meter correctly in the Tamron A100. The FA should not be a problem, however. If the 177D is its only investment in Minolta glass, I recommend to review the Canon 400D and Nikon D80 as well. These are slightly more expensive and of better quality than the Sony A100, and will have more choice and deeper of the two lenses to start with. The kit lens for the A100 is a category of consumer zoom of 18 to 70 (actually 27-105mm). It costs about $ 100 kit with the A100, and is less than $ 200 is sold separately.
