Memory card for digital cameras question ….?

We have a Nikon Coolpix L6 digital camera and memory card that we had broken the copy writing on and off them burst memory. the more I wondered what type of memory card to buy, or memory cards universal digital cameras? I'm buying a new day tomorrow and I want an answer as quickly as I can get one. Thank you to all who can Help.

You have what is called an SD card. you should get another. that nothing can be done to fix yours. when you get a new brands are Lexar and SanDisk are available in different speeds not need anything faster than 80x, but all is well, if u get a 133x. Just a side note I would get two cards 1gig AA and 2 gig card. it's always better to have a backup. success
