Can you feed composite video cable to laptop?

I try to see if there is a way to make a film that comes through a composite cable (oh so famous yellow and white red line coming from the back of many electronic video) through a laptop screen, allowing you to watch the video of, say, a VCR, through the screen of your laptop. Is this possible and how is this done?
