How exposure to a level detector the size of a Nikon F2?

I have one of these and want to try this used to take pictures, but have no idea how I would use it to focus for the Nikon F2, this is not the needle that indicates generally how you exposure.

You have two options: 1. Use a hand-meter external. 2. Guess. With practice, you can usually get close enough to "guess" method, based on the Sunny 16 rule. If you prefer to rely on a counter, you can get units analogue more on Ebay pretty cheap, or you can spend $ 500 on a digital counter fantasy. Both are the same, but you have actually read a meter analog. A digital meter that appears on screen exposure.
